Probably at the rate we're going (and the pace they're going making the show )
I felt really bad for that episode too. It had to be hard to see the place he loved as a kid that he was hoping would be preserved had changed so much. __________________

Yeah even seeing gradual progress is hard (see: the tech revolution has been happening my whole life but AI absolutely terrifies me and it seems like it came out of nowhere). But it's even harder to see a really jarring change to something that's really personal to you.

Every time I see a realistic-looking AI image I get scared
Yeah the scared statues and paintings got me a little bit too. There are some things that you just have to respect I think. But it wasn't like there was anyone around to stop the people who built all the new pipes and tech At least the episode had a happy ending! It was nice that Aang started to embrace some of the change. __________________

Same! The voice stuff is already getting out of hand too
It's like the culture was so faded from the world that they didn't feel the need to think twice about what they were doing Yes! Like Aang, I thought it was wonderful for these people to have somewhere to live and try to escape the dangers of the world __________________

Oh yeah the voice stuff scares me too
Yeah plus with no airbenders around (except Aang who was busy doing other things) it isn't like there was anyone to stop them. So I understand how people could forget about them unfortunately. That's why real history is so important (which the avatar world was lacking as we've seen) The air temples did just look nice and kind of peaceful and isolated. They'd be great places to live I think. __________________

The history lessons in the ATLA world are incredibly unfortunate And I think it rings true to our world. We're all taught a certain perspective about a history and we don't learn at all about other parts. Aang handled himself decently, considering

It is sad how much important history I'm still learning even after finishing high school, college and nearly grad school! And most of the times I hear about something for the first time I go "why didn't I learn this in school"
One of the saddest/scariest parts about rewatching the show as an adult is realizing just how much it mirrors real life. __________________
