Just to start things off a bit! So Ursa was specifically sought out by the royal family to be Ozai's bride because they knew she was a descendent of Roku's. That makes a lot of sense actually. She already had herself a special someone though

Okay I'm that far in my re-read so good! Yeah I remember us talking about how there's noooo way she could have gotten with Ozai naturally since she seemed too nice for him so that makes a lot of sense. I guess arranged marriages are pretty natural for a nation as power-obsessed as the Fire Nation then.

I do feel a little bad she and the guy she actually liked were basically forced to break up because of it.

The whole situation was out of her hands It was really tragic when her true love chased after her carriage and had fake stage prop swords so try to fight with She had no choice, but to give him up for both their sakes. She even was forced to give up her family who she would no longer be able to see once she was married I feel for Ursa.

I am 50 pages in and should be reading more today

Yeah he really tried, but there wasn't really any stopping the situation.

It's really sad how isolated she was after she got married. Her bond with Zuko makes a lot more sense then...he was kind of all she had.

That's an interesting deal that she was with Ozai. And pretty sad that she had to promise never to come back.

Yeah spirit face lady is a little creepy! But I think face stealing is worse. And at least she ends up being very helpful!
