I remember that gadget, was always fun to see on screen 'cause the possibilities of what would come out of there were endless! It was just for plot convenience of course but it was fun. Doraemon also broke the 4th wall so many times you could not count and IT WAS CRAZY!

Dorayaki! i bought some at a local japanese/korean store. One brand had Doraemon design on the dorayakis AND they came with Doraemon stickers my younger self is very happy!

You know what, since it's been like 20 years since i saw it last i could be shuffling/mixing things in my brain........ Maybe the breaking of the 4th wall was more prominent in other shows like spongebob and i'm just confused!

Wow. That's a long time to go between watching an Anime. I did not know of Doraemon 20 years ago.

You really didn't? In my case, that was the kind of program that was prominent in the 90's, i guess it was recognized/labeled as a ''cartoon'' because it was always shown on early mornings & on the weekends on occasion.

Here's from Wikipedia: ''Doraemon (ドラえもん) is an anime family comedy TV series created by Fujiko F. Fujio and based on the manga series of the same name. This anime is the successor of the 1973 anime. It was produced by Shin-Ei Animation and premiered on April 2, 1979 on TV Asahi.[1]

This Doraemon anime series is sometimes referred to in Asia as the Ōyama Edition (大山版), after Nobuyo Ōyama, the voice actress who voices Doraemon in this series.[2]
