"Great Expectations"

Why it matters:
This was the first time NBC aired an original episode of ER on Thanksgiving.
It earned Julianna her final Lead Actress Emmy nomination for ER.

Also, did you guys hear that Josh Charles only originally had a deal for 4 seasons? Then he signed for the fifth earlier this year? So he could possibly leave after this season (assuming the show goes on).

Yeah. I think 2 or 3 more seasons would be a sufficient run for the series. I'm more intrigued than ever by Alicia and her journey.

It's weird not to have Julianna in the Emmy race this year, but I'm pulling for Carrie and Christine in the guest/supporting categories. I'd love to see either win.

I think Carrie's is today right, the Creative Arts Emmys? This year she is the person I most want to win. I think it means so much to her judging by all the interviews she's done about it and it's her first ever nomination. I don't think Christine will win unfortunately. I also really want Amy Poehler to win hers, even though I've now watched Veep and JLD is brilliant, but I don't think Amy's ever had an Emmy which is so stupid!

Correct! She has stiff competition (Jane Fonda, Diana Riggs, as well as our own Linda Cardellini) but I'd love to see her take home the trophy.

AMEN!!!! I am starting to think Amy will never win. I mean, if she didn't win last year for Leslie's election win episode, I don't know what could win her the award. This year she has submitted her wedding episodes, so hopefully the sentimental side gets her some love from the judges? I agree that Julia is hilarious, but she has won so many times and, to be frank, Selina Meyer is nowhere near as layered or nuanced as Leslie Knope.
