On a sort of related note, my name on most social media sites is "stephen_09." The numbers "09" have no significance, other than that I signed up to Twitter in 2009 and it was a suggestion they made since "stephen" was already taken. It somehow stuck and I now continue to use it everywhere.

It doesn't mean anything, it's just a silly contortion of Mirjami.
It just sounds stupid. "Mirde" also feels kind of stupid to me nowadays, I mean, no one ever uses it of me. I don't know why I chose it as my nick here. That's interesting, Stephen. My specialty at uni is onomastics, which is study of names, and I know a guy who did his master's thesis on internet nicks. He discovered that the most common way to form a nick is exactly how you described: someone's already got your name so you add a number (often it's the year of birth, but sometimes just random) and maybe a _. So stephen_09 is the prototype of internet nicks. |

I hate the episodes after "Damage is Done" until "Bygones" in Season 8 (except for "Secrets and Lies"). Elizabeth is horrible (I get that Rachel almost killed Ella, but still) and Mark hides his brain tumor recurrence from her.
I just hate that plot. __________________

It wasn't so much that I didn't understand her perspective, it was more that the drama and dark times for them never seemed to let up. It got a bit exhausting.
