I feel so sad and cheated because Season 9 could have been the season of the Lusan. At least I would've had a ship to root for amidst all of the Carby drama.

Let's see what I can think of: This was set during Season 9.

Luka's breakup with Abby was still fresh on his mind, and Mark's death still had a huge effect on Susan. Maybe by some coincidence, they have a chance to be together on a slow day. Let's say, they were on the rooftop. Okay, they were never that close before that moment. Suddenly, Luka then starts to talk about what have been the nagging thoughts occupying him: the breakup, his wife, his children, work, and much more. Susan, at some level, can really relate to him in the aspect of losing someone they loved SO much, and she starts to talk about Little Susie, her memories of Phoenix, even the days leading to Mark's death, and how she had to tell Elizabeth the news.

...and that conversation turned into so much more. Next thing they knew, they started doing stuff together like eating lunch and drinking the horrible hospital coffee. Of course, you can never underestimate the ER Nurses' Gossip Radar. Soon, the whispers came, then the side comments (Chuny and Yosh were the worst offenders). There was even a betting pool going on. For a romance, the stakes were pretty high, but that was to be expected., A gorgeous husky-voiced blonde getting together with that tall, dark and handsome Croat? Imagine how will the kids look like.

I wished it would end up with them getting married and having 2.5 perfect children, but unfortunately, this story never even existed.

Wow, I can't believe you came up with all that. I'll admit, that kind of story sounds *really* good. I'm a Luby fan till the death, but it was their reunion in Season 12 when I became a big fan. So if ever the writers wanted to get me on board with Lusan, Season 9 would have been the time.

Season 9 was my least favorite season. I didn't like how they wrote both Luka and Susan. I mean, the Luka of Season 6-8 wouldn't sleep with hookers (let alone use one as his therapist), and the Susan of old wouldn't be the 'marrying in a Vegas mini-chapel while drunk' type. It's like there was a sudden change in POV with the introduction of new writers, and they had NO idea how to write their characters. Actually, they did this with a great majority of the characters: Carter became a jerk, Abby became an extremely problematic person, etc.

I'd say scrap the Luka and his many conquests/hookers, as well as the Susan/Chuck thing. Get Luka and Susan together, and I'm a happy gal. I can deal with the Carby stuff as long as there's something else holding my attention.

I'm Not Dead

I thought Season 9 started off really well with the Don Cheadle arc, seeing Corday readjust to County and seeing Romano deal with his accident. But then it just got so heavy.

The early half of S9 was good, I agree. My issue was with how the characters were written, and how some of the things they did were OOC.

That'd have been AWESOME I used to really ship them, before I watched everything in order and all, they look so cute together , I remember a website, Shoot The Moon, it was a Lusan website, I even read fics there

I love the fics on that site. Thank god for the Wayback Machine, or else I wouldn't be able to read them. Another thing, if Luka and Susan have a kid, their smile would be perfect.

Watching a few Season 9 episodes, there was a scene there where Susan confronts him about "boffing" a patient's mother in the storage closet. I can really see the tension between the two of them there. Maybe Susan want to be the one Luka was boffing with. Actually, there are so many hints in that season.
