It hit close to home for me as well, Not in the sense that any one I know has Alzheimer's but rather I take care of my elderly parent's and my mom had a transplant

Yeah, it's pretty emotional. Just having a parent-child relationship and seeing the parent needing help will get you, even if it's vastly different than this one.

What I'm finding out is we've swapped from my younger years, For example, My parent's really shouldn't be leaving the house due to the pandemic and being high risk, but they still go to the store, so much so that I threaten to take away their car keys.
