^my day started with a phone call at 9 with my client's doctor. i started most days between 9:15 to 9:30 thanks to flexible hours. so 9 is earlier than usual. the earliest we can start is at 7 i think, never gonna happen to me

Well, you're keeping busy, but good to see you. Yeah, Prime frustratingly increased their prices, so I likely won't have it every month, but maybe every other month instead. I am excited about Apple+ coming to Xfinity as most other streaming services I think have done that & that's our cable provider here. You are night owl or early bird? I I'm up late typically still, but can get up before 7:00 A.M.

definitely night owl. it's just how i am naturally. i like the quietness of it.

i mean i can wake up early but i just hate it Starting April, it's back to the office. i was hired during the pandemic and our offices moved so it's gonna be new for everyone.

more people leaving at work. i'm not worried about not having a job, but too much work and how tolerant can i still be. should i wait for permanency (argh that's another 2 years and a half to go) or jump ship now and take my chances elsewhere?

how on earht does it take that long to get permanency? I would keep an eye out for the job market in case something promising turns up

4 years is longest that one can wait because that's in the collective agreement. people used to wait forever to get permanency. thanks to the union, it has been reduced to 4 years. so the "older" colleagues normalised the waiting period which to me is way too long to be competitive on the market.

my observation are: the employer doesn't care about turnover or employee retention yet wants results/numbers, nothing stops them from offering permanency before 4 years they simply choose not to. i was offered permanency after 6 months at a different department of the government (but i left, too crazy there) so i know it can happen.

the permanency offers more career opportunities. the salary and benefits remain the same. most internal job offers start with "must be part of the regular staff" which makes me not eligible.

yeah bureaucracy crap...
