Hello.

Since I though this would give a little something for the board (I saw it on an other board) I though I'd post it here. Someone gives a pairing of the moment and a deadline when to submit the fic to this thread. (Ex: Max/Kyle, August 30th). Like this:

1. The fic can't have more that 100 words. So it's a "Drabble". It has to be a small moment/conversation between the pair.
2. The rating has to be PG, because this board is a PG board.
3. The Challenge maker of the moment can decided the theme of the challenger (first kiss, first meeting, confession etc).
4. The Challenger maker of the moment cannot submit a fic, but other people can submit more than one mini-fic.
5. Have fun.

So since I started the thread, here is my Challenge:

Hmm, it's very restrictive and formulaic, but how can I resist this couple? So I may just give it a shot. I've got some ideas going. Might even make a more substantive ficlet out of them later... So this'd be like the El Mariachi before I get the funds to make Desperado.

OK, Here is my first entry. It probably should be disqualified, because, according to my editing program, it is 324 words, but I can't make it any shorter and capture the moment I was after. Maybe I'll try again later. Enjoy.

First Kiss

“I need another Snapple. ‘Nother beer while I’m up?” Michael unfolded his generous frame from the depths of the sofa.

Kyle didn’t move; even his lips barely moved as he replied, ‘No, thanks. I’m pretty mellow already; I get any more mellow and I won’t be driving home tonight.”

“Right.” Michael grabbed his drink from the fridge and collapsed back down on the small sofa whose springs were so old and weak that the two bodies couldn’t help touching as he sank in. “So...”

Kyle tilted his head towards Michael and closed one eye. “So... ?”

Michael took a deep draught from the bottle and set it on the table next to him. “So!”

They sat in silence for 30 seconds before Kyle spoke. “Guerin, it was really thoughtful of you to get this beer for me -- especially since you don’t drink it and all, and the old Kung Fu movie was classic, but when you called you said that you had something to tell me, so... wha’sup?”

“I dunno, I got this thing I’ve been meaning to tell you for a couple months now, but I just couldn’t seem to find the right time or place. I guess I’m kind-of not sure how you’ll react.”

“What is it, Guerin? C’mon, you know you can trust me; you can tell me anything.”

Michael sat motionless, staring full-face at Kyle for the longest time, then slowly leaned over and kissed Kyle ever-so-gently, right on the lips then straightened up and sat staring again.

Kyle blinked in astonishment. “Oh!”

“O god, I’m sorry.” Michael shaded his eyes with his hands and was shaking his head. “I don’t know what I was thinking. I don’t know what came over me I just...”

“Guerin,” Kyle interrupted,

“Yeah”

“Shut up.” Kyle leaned forward putting his bottle on the table and turned, grasping the back of Michael’s neck as he pulled Michael’s face to his own and their gaping mouths met.

Yeah 100 words is very short isn't it? I'm still trying to figure out the exact parameters of my submission, so I'll save reading your work, Alex, until after I've got it clear in my head.

You have 6 days time to submit, but if people have not made enough fics before that, then the time will be extented a little.

Yay! I might benefit from an extension. I'll still aim to meet the deadline though.

So Anna, how many submissions were you hoping to get (we're talking ball-park figure here)?

In the meantime, stew over this little bit of inked art of mine. Hopefully it might get some of the creative juices going.

Cool, thanks for that Anna. I've got a number of ideas, but not enough glue to stick them together yet. With a 100 word limit, there's really no room for error!

Well, as I've mentioned over in the Kyle/Michael thread, I've finally composed my submission for this challenge. As soon as I settle on a title, I'll post it here. Although I haven't counted yet, it's probably over 100 words. Still, I cannot be expected to curb my artistic vision for the sake of a few petty restrictions.

So fetch, how are you going with your submission? And Anna, I hope you're planning on writing something too? Then we will have four responses.

I haven't starting yet. It's harder if they have to actually kiss I'll give it a try, though.
