I need to get back into writing for them. I've been having so many ideas lately.

I agree. This fandom really took the parasocial stuff to the next level and that's saying a lot given everything I've seen during my years in fandom .

I've seen some chatter around about how S5 would have been so good and how we're missing Nace being together and I'm like NOPE. There's nothing to miss because they wouldn't have been together. Sure they'd have some scenes, but Nancy would just be passed along to the next plot point LI (as soon as LB was gone).

How anyone could trust a team of writers that had Nancy SA Ace, and then had Ace accidentally brutally murder a black woman purely for angst is beyond me. 3x10 and a majority of season 3 just pissed me off. But Season 4 genuinely makes me question the people who wrote it as people, and not just writers.

1000%. Did anyone actually ever call the writers out for the Alice storyline? Because it just seems so utterly problematic that you would think they would realize it?!!?!

And I don't understand why they even needed to make the whole SE thing about a random new character when the curse was right there?????

I tried and they blocked me. They are incapable of hearing any criticism.

The Alice thing is another example of something that bothered me about the show in general. Ace was treated like the worst person to ever exist for breaking Nancy's heart, they made it seem like he just woke up one day and decided to do it, when he did it for the same reason she broke his in 3x13. (Although if you watch Season 4, it's clear they forgot about 3x13 at some point). But they spend the whole season establishing that going to the black door is terrible and you shouldn't be doing it, and then when Nancy does it she's immediately forgiven because she did it out of love. Theirs absolutely zero accountability for Nancy.

Nancy is a classic Mary Stu. If it weren't for Kennedy I would prob never have gotten into this character.

omg you guys are making me laugh so hard.

Kennedy did the best she could with what she was given tbh.

I knew that this season was going to be really bad when Kennedy said in that one interview how her and Alex had to "work with" the writers to bring about their vision, or something like that. I don't remember how it was exactly phrased...but you KNOW that they were not happy with the writing for Nace (or their characters) for S4. They probably had a completely different idea of what S4 was going to look like. I know I did.

And some people actually wanted a S5???? Why?? Because it DEFINITELY wouldn't be Nace as a couple. Sure there would be scenes...but it would just be the same old nonsense.

People wanted S5 and even more if possible. I think there were definitely some people who thought this was the one CW show that would be on for many seasons (until the big purge happened). I get always wanting the show to be around, but it likely would've been much of the same stuff with Nace.

Nace aside. They showed a complete lack of awareness of what their audience wants, an inability to write a 13 episode season, and they showed 2 seasons in a row that they didn't care enough about the characters to not write them OOC.
