Itβs good they were open to starting a series, even before she appeared on Elseworlds.

I am looking forward to what other superhero series are on the horizon in the future!
Good article. Contains some spoilers from the pilot that was shown at Comic-Con, so beware. Nothing too spoilery though. I like that the article doesn't just give it outright praise or outright criticism. And I also like that she compared Ruby Rose to Stephen Amell in the acting. Just like SA improved, it says, the article believes Ruby will too. The Mediocrity of Batwoman Also Feels Like One of Its Biggest Strengths __________________

Yeah, I think the article made a point to say that. Kind of. She isn't the first queer superhero in Arrowverse, as some other articles and headlines claim.

Well yeah at least its not making that claim, but it just seems unnecessary to me. I don't think the sexuality defines who she is (although I guess in some ways it possibly has, especially depending on how they want to write things). She's a person who wants to dress up as a bat & save Gotham. The fact that she's attracted to women should be immaterial. Then the sexuality of Ruby Rose also shouldn't mean anything at all as if she's an actor then she should be able to play any character regardless of their sexuality.
But they definitely shouldn't be claiming her as the first. Arrowverse has had a few LGB characters & superheroes. Maybe not so much the lead but I'd say Sara is the lead of LoT even if she's not the titular character? |

Exactly. Like Matthew Daddario on SH plays a gay character (Alec), but the actor isn't gay. I also don't get the whole thing about people complaining that 'only' gay actors should play gay characters. They're ACTORS. I understand from the standpoint of representation (possibly truer representation?), but people need to chill.
Right. Sara is the lead of LoT. Maybe it's a 'bigger' deal because the actress is queer herself? __________________

I think it is a bigger deal for that reason

I think itβs more to do with her being the first titular lead of her own series and canon lgbt.

That makes sense. Although still, calling it a first is just for promotion purposes and not true. I think that's what made some people upset.

Yeah I'd presume its because its canon & titular . Add in it being a queer actress (& just having a queer actress as a lead is awesome) & that's amazing news. I just don't agree with things like that needing to be publicized or used to promote a show. Or at least not everywhere. Mention it once, move on, promote something else
