It is a literal protest, where they are blocking the roads and stuff. One nurse vented on the stupidity because he's not able to get to work to save lives.

Understandable. I know that not every state is as badly infected as New York right now. So I can see why some may feel safer and see quarantine as more of an inconvenience than a necessary precaution.

The scary thing is how fast it spreads and continues to grow. Until there is a vaccine, things will change. Even when everything opens up.

Yes, we will be. I'm not sure I will ever be excited for a spring break again. I'm sad. For the students, for the parents, and especially for our special education students - this is a hard one!

Just seems to be bad everywhere right now. Worst thing is when people start to play the blame game and then things turn violent.
Two asian students were assaulted just the other night in Melbourne. So glad I had my trip there last year before all this happened. __________________

I have given a second thought to the protests and I do understand them. It is more than about liberty and freedom, for some people. So many who are unemployed are not paid as long as everything is closed. However, the government should step up in this case and provide the pay for all employees as they were paid before this mess, and not put this pressure on small businesses to layoff all their workers. So I can't blame the protesters, because they are trying to survive. I think it's easy to see it from just one perspective, but I always try to see all sides.
