Ah, Standing Still....the movie that was long lost but not forgotten.
It's been 3 years, It's pretty safe to say that we James van der Beek fans are very, very patient when it comes to his movies.
Some of us have seen The Plague, others have not.
As some of you may know, I wasn't too happy with it.
I found the acting to be quite bad, and the script was horrific (in a bad way)
The only good thing was James, he acted ''good'', with good being the keyword here.
Not as good as in Rules, Varsity Blues or....Standing Still.
Does that mean Standing Still is as good as Rules and/or Varsity Blues?

I would say....no.

It's a fun movie that mostly evolves around the newlyweds to be, that being Adam Garcia and Amy Adams.
They invite a few friends : Pockets (Jon Abrahams) Quentin (Colin Hanks, bytheway, he was great!) Simon Blake (James van der Beek) and some other characters that didn't really interest me that much.
Simon is drunk on arrival along with his trusty companion, Franklin Brauner (Roger Avary, gotta love his dance )
Unfortunatly Simon doesn't arrive until like 30 minutes in the movie, which kinda gave me the feeling that he had a supporting role....
And it seems my fears were founded because James has a total screentime of about...15-20 minutes, with very little dialogue I might add.
It's disappointing ya know, here's this movie I've been dying to see for about 3 years and James has a freakin' supporting role.
Granted, he acted great and was funny but after 3 years your expectations seem to get a little higher.
The Vegas trip? A montage of about 6 minutes.

That being said, it's a fun movie, not great, but fun.
Is it a movie which we will remember for James' significant contribution?
I hate to say it, but no.

Well, seeing how many ppl was in that movie, I kind of expected his role not to be the main or anything, but yes, I also expected more then 15 or 20 minutes

Oh well, the important thing is that he was there, and better 20 minutes than nothing, right?

I saw that there is nudity in it. Who exactly is nude? Just for future viewing knowledge.
