He was nice enough to help her with Cal's stuff, so things probably started off well between them. I guess the issue is whether or not that lasted.

The young Olive flashback was so bittersweet. She took care of her mom who was still grieving for Ben after 6 months. And of course at first she didn't like Danny. Though the flashback didn't explain to me how she grew fond of Danny and became her father figure but Ben's absence probably triggered it.

I think there might have been a Danny and Olive scene cut. That scene where Olive brought her mother soup was so sad and so strong at the same time. Olive went through a lot in those 5 1/2 years. She lost a father, twin brother and grandma and at times she probably felt like she was loosing her mother.

I think that you just hit the nail on the head. She has lost so much already. And now she does not want to lose Danny too.

And she is a teenager, so she can't just come out and say what is bothering her.
I do hope we find out more about her problems during the years the plane was missing. Pilots often introduce material that doesn't get followed up on, but, if her nightmares are still a part of the story, I hope we learn more about those episodes.

Why would they cut it? Because now I'm confused. I want to see Olive & Danny bond. Not cut to a scene where Danny says to Grace that he's grown to love Olive.

Here’s some photos the actress who plays young Olive posted. Different clothes. And daylight outside at what looks like the Stones backyard. Maybe it was when Olive saved Cal’s things and they took them to Damny’s Locker? And they thought it was unnecessary because we already knew it? It would have helped the story of this great bond between Danny and Olive be much more believable and Danny much more likeable to keep it in.

If they thought it was unecessary they were wrong, not only because without it it seems like she liked him out of no where, but also because relationships take time to build.

I mean I guess I understand that they have bonded but I would've preferred to see it. Unless they really don't want us to care for Danny/Olive at all.
