She clearly has a connection to Danny. Which is something I quite like, she shouldn't lose that just because her dad is back.

I started out very angry at Olive. I am guessing she called her mom. And then when her mom did not answer she called Danny. Not that she purposely called both of them. Her motives seemed to be more about protecting Ben than trying to parent trap Danny and her mother.

My heart broke for her when she told him she did not want him to know she was a screw up.

I thought they were clear that she called Grace first. When she didn't answer, Olive called Danny because she doesn't want Ben to view her as the screw up she believes Grace and Danny think she is.

I really do wonder if she thinks that because she's been told it enough times by people that are meant to be supporting her. At least we know Ben would never.

Given Grace’s speech at the end, I think she has been told that. Not to mention the text that Grace sent Danny was anti Olive.

Kind of appalling to tell her that. She's a child. Sure, she needs discipline, but calling someone a screw up can really damage them, especially if it's constant, and Olive hasn't had Ben to counteract it for five and a half years. You can understand why she would be terrified of him developing the same view of her.

Oh yeah, the text. "Still Olive." That's kind of a terrible attitude for a parent to have.

Agreed. I still think she resents having to let Ben co-parent, too.

She totally does. Hence her calling Olive "my daughter" and Ben having to correct her.

That scene with Ben is my favorite. "You'll always see me as your little girl." which is technically correct. She's all grown up now and Ben is adjusting to that, very well, I might add even if it's difficult for him. But it always is when there's a teenager in the house.

I don't think she actually resents having to co-parent with Ben again, she's just been doing it alone for over 5 years and at some point Danny entered the picture and she probably didn't let him be a parent figure to Olive from the start either. I think Grace is confused at the moment, she'll need to figure out how she feels and what she wants.

I hope we'll get to see some flashbacks to find out why Olive thinks she's a screw up, maybe it's connected to her believing Cal, Ben and Michaela are alive. I think she also didn't want to see her dad be disappointed in her bc she clearly though he would be.
