BIPOC = Black Indigenous People of Colour
BAME = Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic



Maybe here we just accept people better? Or we just don't have necessarily the same issues that other countries have? I do believe that our Indigenous Australians though get treated poorly, it isn't reported upon as much, so we don't react about it. There is still a stereotype similar to what is in the US that black people are bad & up to no good so automatically suspected of things. I'm not sure though, so could be wrong. Or maybe Australia just has enough slang & shortening of things of our own so we simply don't need acronyms like POC, BIPOC, or BAME

With so many skin colours & ethnicity though it doesn't seem fair to group them all together as one. Even adding in the BI in front of POC isn't respectful imo. They're people, call them by their name or their ethnicity if you have to. Honestly though I watch this show for example & I don't see African Americans or Latinos, I just see three women who are doing an amazing job in this show.

see i agree with us aussie compared to america is different , saying that the Indigenous do get stereotyped and all they have chances but what happened to them wasnt that long ago so they still need help and to be told sorry to .

this issue is world wide but i feel us aussie try to make it better well try

It is different & each country has had their own different ways of dealing with their indigenous people. I think Australia has at least tried to apologise & continues to do so for what was done in the past. Unfortunately we can't change the past or reunite families which were torn apart. But we try to move forward. I can't speak for what America does but it doesn't sound all that good over there. But maybe it is better than it sounds.

It would be nice if the whole world could stop seeing people by the colour of their skin or their ethnic backgrounds & just saw people for who they are as an individual. I know we're also meant to respect where people come from & their ethnic backgrounds but I think that everyone has their own journey & experiences so if we're respecting them as an individual then we are still respecting them for that.
