Standard Avatar - Help/Suggestion Thread
 

Hello Everyone! :wave:

It's that time again to submit standard avatars! I will do a mass move of all the avatars from two years ago into a new folder. It will still be accessible for the public to use. :nod:

Info & Schedule:

• There will be an overall of 5 avatars per board added to :ff:.
• All Moderators will pick 10 and the Graphics Team will then select the final 5 from those 10.
• Mods: Feel free to participate in the icon making process. Please be fair in selecting the avatars. :)

Schedule:

• TV Shows: Present ~ May 1st to May 15th
• Female Celebrities ~ May 15th to May 29th
• Male Celebrities ~ May 29th to June 12th
• Music Artists ~ June 12th to June 26th
• Sci-Fi/Fantasy and Fan Extras ~ June 26th to July 10th
• TV Shows: Past ~ July 10th to July 24th
• General Discussion ~ July 24th to August 7th

Rules:

• Please don't include any text on the avatars. (That means actual text or logo.)
• No animated avatars.
• All avatars must be 100px by 100px.
• All avatars should be a general representation of the board.
• You may submit up to 5 avatars (no more) per person per board.
• You may create your avatar(s) however you like - but no text or animation.
• Do not submit any previous standard avatars, or take another person's avatars claiming them as your own. You must make them yourself. :)

Please only submit avatars that you have made yourself. If you need help/suggestions please check out the thread here on the Fan Art board. You can see the icons we have already uploaded in the Edit Avatar page of your User CP.

err, it means that a newbie like me can use avatar?

Yes, that's what it means :nod: Anyone with under 101 posts can pick one of the selected icons and use it as an icon then for the time being :)

This sounds like a fun project! :)

btw, what do you mean with selected icon, is there anyone who provide us the icons or I can make it by myself?

Right now you can't use your own but when you get 101 posts you can.
But what this is for, is you would be able to have an icon now that is already in the premade icons if you have less then 101 posts

This is just the help and suggestion thread for your icon(s). You will submit your icon(s) when Jen (Scythe) posts the thread on the individual boards. Right now, the boards that will be sumbitting icons are the TV Shows: Present (Feb 1st - Feb 15th). If you want to, you don't have to, you can submit icons to the individual boards of your choice (only 5 per board though).

When everything is all said and done, the moderators will pick 10 icons from the batch of their board, and the Graphics Team will final it down to 5 board each.

If you have some old icons stacked somewhere that fit a board you can post them as well :)

Question: for the TV show avatars, does it have to be photos of the TV show characters or can it be photos of the cast, not in character. (for example, an icon made from a group shot taken during the Screen Actors Guild Awards)

You can use them.

Can I submit old icons,as long as are made by me? :look:

Yes, you can as along as you follow the rules. :)

The rules say "Please don't include any text on the avatars." Does this include the logo of a TV show (e.g. the American Idol logo) or is it considered to be an image instead?

If the logo is already on the image, it's okay. But if you put the logo on the image yourself, it's consider text. :)
