Korey spend 12 years in prison.

Everything in the series is based on their experiences but I'm not sure Roberts really existed. I couldn't find any information on this part which made me wonder that maybe it was somebody Korey imagined after being in solitary confinement for so long. When he reappeared to switch the channel on the TV he didn't seem to have changed.

I think Ava delibertaely chose not to show the details of what the boys went through in court because she wanted to focus primarily on humanizing them and showing how much it also affected their families. She focused the most on Korey's story because his story was so different, I think the other men also told her to tell his story because it was the most important and least explored.

I watched an interview with the actors who played the boys and when Jharrel talked about meeting Korey he mentioned how it seems like his 16 year old self is still trapped in there. This statement is so heartbreaking, really shows how much all the trauma has affected him. He tries to hold on to the time before his innocence was taken away from him.

The girl that was attacked hasn't reached out to them at all, and thats fine, if she's unsure of what happened I can understand her hesitancy, but I've read she said she always felt there were more than just 1 person there... which is silly considering she said she cant remember anything. So yeah...

I know how much time he spent in there, but how much time was he supposed to spend before he was released? His story is so sad. He shouldn't have gone to adult prison at 16, as a first time offense, especially with the problems he had. That was effed up.

That would be so difficult to go away when you are so young and miss your entire young adulthood and then have to pick up your life when you are in your 30's or 40s. Like, for real...

She was also manipulated by law enforcement, she's just repeating what police, prosecutors, etc. have been feeding her.

Korey was sentenced 5 to 15 years. He was given several parole hearings but like depicted in the show, he never admitted he was guilty.

It must be so difficult, especially if you have been accused of something as severe. They had to register as sex offenders too, so they had that hanging over them as well. The 4 were released when they were in their early 20s and they still struggled with re-entering society.

I am not going to judge her or comment on her. The movie does not focus on her. I just wish this didn't happen to her because no one deserve this and then everything wouldn't have happend

So 15 was the most he would have served? So without the exoneration, he would have only served two more years? Sucks that it was so late in his sentence that the real guy confessed.

I'm not judging her necessarily, but I think it sorts of crappy that she hasnt reached out at all. I mean the DNA of the real guy was there... and he admitted he acted alone. These 5 innocent children went to jail and suffered for years. Of course its not her fault whatsoever, but if i was her I would want to at least speak to them. But I guess its probably difficult to face that entire situation. I just found it interesting she was telling the media she felt there was another person there.

Korey was the one who serves the most bec they want to find the "ringleader" into jail so, w/o exoneration, he would stay in jail for good bec he didn't show up for the court as long he already told his truth.. And the guys wouldn't get good job bec of their crime record still be on the system, so everything are clear..

She didn't remember, but she only know what the lawyers, cops and all that told her so that way she can repeat what they said as long they get to put those boys into jail..

Plus I can't comment when it comes to her bec it's not her fault since she's victim since she didn't remember much on that night..

Exactly, she's the victim, of law enforcement too, she was manipulated by law enforcement. She went through a traumatic experience and it affected her forever, she lost her sense of smell and still suffers some side effects from her brain injury.
