I kind of dropped this show after the first few episodes in s02.

I loved season 1 but am disappointed so far in season 2.
Maybe I should give it another try

Season 2 is hit or miss for me. Some episodes are interesting but some boring.

Yeah, I read a review of episode 16 in which the author called him an autocrat and it's true. Basically declaring war based on unverified intel despite his advisors trying to reason with him. And that intel honestly stank to high heaven, I doubt any government would leave such obvious trails and so easily traced back to them.
