Hubby and I binge watched over the weekend, finished last night.

My thoughts -

I really did not like Rachel/Amy at first, but I don't think we were supposed to. Never ended up just loving her or anything, but I liked her quite a bit by the end. I did love how fiercely loyal she was to Frank once she realized the lengths he was willing to go to, to protect her. And I'm always pleased and grateful whenever anyone recognizes that yes, he does have a code of honor he lives by and there are lines he does not cross. See: Page, Karen.

Took me until the very end to feel like I had a good grasp on Pilgrim and what makes him tick. I kept trying to envision all the other churchgoers as members of some strange, violent, religious cult and it just didn't fit. But then I finally realized that there was no cult, just everyday politics. At the end of the day, Pilgrim was just an ordinary hit man, even if he didn't realize it. The politician's parents were just smart enough and ruthless enough to realize that they had someone (former Neo Nazi maybe?) desperate enough for personal salvation/redemption from his past, that all they had to do was tell him he was on some special mission from God every time they sent him out to kill someone and/or cover up their tracks, and he would stop at nothing to get it done. What utterly horrible, evil people. I'm glad their son ended up being innocent of all of that, as he seemed like a genuinely good person, but also glad he found out what kind of people they really were. I feel like he would actually try to do what he could to right some of their wrongs. I'm also glad Frank and the kid ended them before they could corrupt Pilgrim's sons and shape them into whatever they had planned for them. *shudder*

I'm still not sure how Madani ended up in such a high position in the FBI, she's got about as much natural instinct for reading people as a stuffed goat.

I wish it hadn't have taken the entire season to close out the Billy Russo storyline. And if they wanted me to feel sorry for him in the end, they failed. He couldn't remember anything about who he was or what he had done beyond his childhood and days in the service, and he still turned into a 'the world owes me because of a crappy childhood' glorified street thug? Cry me a river, a-hole.

In the end I'm glad Frank just came in with no preamble, no flowery speech, no nothing and just finished him. Everything that needed to be said about Billy Russo by that point had been said. People needed to be able to move on with their freaking lives, and Frank gave them that freedom.

I wish Krista had died. She was just as much a piece of trash as Billy.

Glad Curtis ended the season okay. I was truly worried for him a few times. Mahoney too.

Karen and Frank had a moment. *inner squeal* I know Frank is right, they can never really be together, and he's not wrong when he says every time he tries to have "normal" the wrong people get hurt, but still. They had a moment.

-Madani blew the whole conspiracy out in the open, it would have been dumb if she didn't get promoted

- I didn't like Amy at first either but after the first few episodes her bond with Frank was a treat. I loved the character and I can't wait to see what the actress does next

- Frank just coming in and killing him was ridiculous. This whole season was leading up to a final confrontation and what we got was so anticlimactic

Krista was utterly worthless and her wide plot with Billy just derailed the pacing of the season. Billy should have killed her as soon as he escaped the hospital. Her thinking she could fix Billy and his broken bird wing crap was equally lame.

- Not gonna comment on Kastle since they have their own thread and most here know how I feel about romance on TP and DD

Actually, I think they could be together. Karen is strong enough to never change into him but she also understands him enough that she could be with him and help him see the lighter side of things. Right now, I think the main thing holding them back is Frank being afraid of losing someone else he loves/cares for completely and so he's pushing Karen away to protect himself and also her to a certain extent, but with Fisk and all, Karen is in just as much danger as anyone at this point. But I do like that Karen didn't tell him about that. She knows he would've done something about it, but Karen doesn't want to be part of the reason he's going more Punisher. That's his deal and his choice.
