Possible Board Closure Discussion: Please Read and Respond!
 

I have been thinking about this the past few weeks, and I think that it may be time to close this board. Our post counts have been declining over the past few months and we have very few regular posters. As you know, Fan Forum requires that we average at least 12 posts per day, with lower numbers than that leading to warnings and then possible closure of the board. We would prefer to go out under our own terms rather than be forced to close due to low post counts.

Please let me know what you think. We'd be glad to hear any suggestions or advice to renew interest here. Remember that to keep the board going, we need the commitment of a few regular, dedicated posters. As much as we love this board, please don't just post to "save" the board and then disappear again, because we'll be in the same position that we're in now if you do.

This isn't an easy thing to contemplate by any means. But with The Punisher being cancelled and post counts still being good but dwindling down with no real new content to post about, it's hard to keep the board going. It's just that when it comes down to it, I would much prefer closing it on our (mine and yours) terms as opposed to a forced closing.

Let me know what you all are thinking.

The board stuck around for over a year and we've done pretty well here. It's just not going to be too easy to keep going with only a few posters and no new content. I really don't want to lose the board because of count problems. I'd rather go out strong.

Oh man this would suck :( but I completely understand why you're thinking of doing this

I've loved posting this board and had this adventure with you, Sam and a few others. What sucks is that so many voted for it in the campaign and then right away the number of posters dropped off.

I love talking about the characters and plot but unfortunately with all the shows being over and the fact we get no new content, conversations can only go so far and with the exception of this show I honestly have no desire to watch the Marvel shows ever again with the exception of Iron Fist

I'll support any decision you make! I agree with Sara that the Defenders board could be the focal point now. I definitely know how this works because me and Si decided to walk away from the IF board because no new content and most of the posts were from the games threads

I haven't been around here much lately & didn't know about the post counts being quite low, but understand if you decide it's best to close it, since the show was canceled & there was less than 30 episodes.

I think it may be the best option right now. I don't want anyone feeling obligated to come here and post to help keep it open. And as I've said, the board going out on a high note would be best.

A decision will be made tomorrow. What is everyone's final thoughts?

I'd love to see the board go out on a high note and with no new content I think the conversations will get repetitive and I don't want to try and decide for you but it seems like it's probably best just to close it otherwise o think the board will be in this exact situation in a few weeks

Like I said, it does suck. Me and Si had to do the same thing with the Iron Fist board. I'll support whatever you decide!

I'm sorry it's come to this, Ash:( but I know it's tough with the Marvel shows going out... I'm in a similar position with TD as well but I still have hope the shows will be revived at some point. I love these characters and this show, I guess we still have the DD board where some of them have threads so if all else fails..but I'm with you either way:hug:

Yes, thankfully we still have the DD board as well as your TD board. :)

We also have the Kastle thread on the couples board. ;)

It is a tough decision :hug: but its certainly the right one to close the board and merge over to DD or TD :hug:
