I think so too, but if they go a bit the comic route they may not be best friends in the beginning.

Yeah, but their start in the comics...it's not gonna go that way. CD were more established and their parents sent them after the kids. So that won't happen.

PRIDE were very prominent people. They weren't known as supervillains at that point. They pulled the "Molly was kidnapped by the older kids" route and asked C&D to find them.
