I think what would've been a much more interesting storyline is if Kirk & Uhura gradually fall in love with each other, and Uhura being the person who changes Kirk during the course of the movie series. Kirk started out as this immature, irresponsible and reckless playboy whose main reason for joining Starfleet in the first place was because of a dare that he made with Pike and he fooled around with different women as frequently as he changed his underwear in the first movie. But if through his interactions with Uhura, Kirk started to grow and mature as a person, he falls in love with her and she became the reason he changed his womanizing ways and stopped fooling around with other women and became a monogamous man who is completely committed to a serious relationship with Uhura, I think that would've been so much more interesting to watch
 The writers had so many opportunities to write a beautiful lovestory for Kirk & Uhura, and they completely wasted those opportunities  |

I'm assuming the Spock|Uhura cause it probably had always been wanted from Leonard's Spock's version from ToS
 the It would have been an amazing story of Kirk|Uhura  but too bad the wasted opportunity__________________

Hell yeah! Most of the TV couples I've loved over the years happened to be IR so it's nice to be reminded of the first kiss.

yes that Kirk & Uhura kiss was so groundbreaking at the time because it was the first ever interracial kiss aired on TV
