Kit's Fandoms Thread #1: Because he's a fan of things just like the rest of us.

Kit Harington's Fandoms Thread

Basically, a discussion of the things Kit's a fan of and his relationship to them.

I made the pic myself. I'm not great with graphics so I have use humor. And I didn't want to leave the OP empty.

Anyways, here's what I remember of Kit talking about Harry Potter.

-He's a big fan, obviously.

-When talking about houses he joked about Jon being Hufflepuff. But said both he and Jon are Gryffindor. But Kit wants to be Slytherin.

-He loves Snape, and talked about what a great character Snape was...that we thought he was this horrible person who turned out to be noble.

-The reason he brought up Snape was because the interviewer asked him who he would rather play in the Marauders prequel: James Potter or Sirius Black? Kit picked Snape and then launched into why he loved Snape.

-After Kit talked about how much he loved Snape and wanted to play him, he admitted he probably wasn't right for the part. He picked Sirius Black, which was clearly what the audience wanted.

-When talking about the films he talked about how much he liked "The Prisoner of Azkaban". I can't remember the other one he mentioned, I want to say "Goblet of Fire", but I'm not sure.

That's all the Kit/HP stuff I remember. Which was a lot. Also my knowledge about HP is pretty limited. I've only read the first book, and seen part of the first movie. Everything I know about HP is b/c it was such a big part of pop culture. So I'm not sure how much of a reliable source I am.

I love what you made! My GOF book cover should be that.

He is a huge Potterhead. I wonder if he ever auditioned for the movies back then?

Thanks for sharing all of that. I think he'd make a lovely young Snape but he'd need to lose that facial hair if he was to play the role. The young Sirius Black belongs to Ben Barnes. Also how in the world did the HP talk came to be at the con? Did someone ask him about HP?

I also know that Kit is a huge sports fan. He likes rugby, soccer & F1. I don't know if he's a fan of TV shows? I would love to know which TV shows he enjoys watching.

Yeah, not counting GOT which he's obviously a fan of, I don't recall him talking about a particular TV show he likes in his interviews.

Yeah I don't think he's mentioned any or maybe no one just asked him because everyone's always asking him about GOT.

That does it then. I'm applying to head up the Graphics Team at FF.

Was Kit ever a child actor? He's actually around the same age as the HP child actors. I was under the impression that he started acting professionally after drama school as a young adult. I could be wrong though. I had no clue that Richard Madden acted professionally as a child until this past year.

The interviewer asked him about HP. I can't remember if it was her question or a fan question. I think it was her question. Plus, I'm sure the questions are pre-screened by Kit or his people, and there was possibly a practice or pre-interview. He probably wanted to talk about it. At Gwendoline's panel her interviewer asked about her being a fan of Tilda Swinton, so it didn't seem that strange for Kit to talk about HP.

He's a big Manchester United fan (for soccer). I remember him mentioning The Wire once in an interview. But I don't know if he's a big T.V. person. His tastes seem to run more literary. The Wire was compared to a novel many times. And his mother is a writer, right?

He talked about being a fan of "ridiculous" comedy. He brought up Alan Partridge at the con, who no one in the audience had ever heard of.

You should and then make banners for all the boards with Kit's face on it.

Oh yeah, he's around the same age as the HP actors that time. Did he graduate drama school when he was around 20+?

I didn't know his mom is a writer. I also don't know who Alan Partridge is. And by "ridiculous" does he mean stand-up or something else?

Alan Partridge is a British director. I'd heard of him, but that was it. I was as clueless as the rest of the audience. By "ridiculous", I think he meant silly and absurd comedy.

I'll have to look up his mother. IIRC, she wrote about Robert Catesby (the ancestor that Kit played in Gunpowder).

Alan Partridge is a spoof tv and radio presenter played by the comedian Steve Coogan. I love the character. Here is a clip of one of his shows, I'm Alan Partridge.

Pia, ah if his mom wrote about Robert Catesby it makes sense then because they are related.

Julie, thanks for the clip, I thought Alan Partridge was a real person. One of the receptionist is that actress from Bridget Jones. And the lady Alan is talking to is familiar to me.
