Ohh it's nice that your co-worker gave you the mangoes... it's a kind gesture and also yummy
Did you manage to see the Northern lights, Pia? I got a pretty nasty cold this week, so a lot of coughing... no fun at all! And we're having hot weather as per usual, but I can't have the A/C on for too long because of the cold, so that is also making things more difficult __________________

Si, I hope your cold is better. There's something particularly depressing about having a cold in warmer weather.
I didn't see the Northern lights. They were at the brightest Friday night, but I missed them because of work. There was another solar storm on Saturday night, but no Northern lights. My cousins on the East Coast (and further North) saw them and sent pictures to my parents. People in my area saw them, there were some cool pics on social media, but I missed out. I hope everyone has a great week! __________________

Julie, I hope it's not going to be a very hot summer for you.
Pia, too much time sleeping isn't too bad especially if we have insomnia. Sorry you didn't see any Northern lights. I was just about to ask you. Si, I just got a cold as well and that's why I haven't been around lately. I woke up with a sore throat, cough, stuffy nose, headache and body aches. I find it weird getting a cold during summer. |

It's OK about the Northern lights. Just a bit of FOMO that's all.
I hope your cold gets better soon, Lindsay. My insomnia has gotten a bit better. I'm trying to improve my sleep hygiene, but it's hard. I always use my laptop and phone in bed, which is a bad thing to do. __________________

It's a lot better now, I only have my cough which is also kind of easing up since I am drinking meds.
I have the same problem. I always wake up in the middle of the night for no reason. And then it's difficult for me to go back to sleep after that. So I end up waking up so tired even though I slept on time. |

I'm glad you're feeling better.
Yes, insomnia is terrible. I'm still having issues falling asleep, but I'm not waking up in the middle of the night as much as I used to. I just need to practice better habits. __________________

I was able to get up a little earlier today.
It was warm today, around 27C, but not too hot. __________________

It's going to be 30C tomorrow which is closer to mega hot for us. And of course, we're going to have even higher temperatures come summer. We get all the extreme temps.

Julie, don't worry it'll be summer there soon and it will be hot again.
Pia, yikes 86F is hot there but at least that's "normal"? Anything more than that will be too hot. We are transitioning to typhoon season already so that means we will get some scattered rainshowers and hot & humid weather all in one day. Possibly everyday until next month. |

Typhoon season.
Our temps in the summer are sometimes close to 100F/38C. But we get emergency warnings when that happens. It's usually in August. |

So the height of summer there is in August?

I would say yes. August seems to be the worst.
No typhoons, but we've been having a lot of storms. I made sure to spend some time outside today, because I'll be stuck inside tomorrow. __________________

It rained yesterday but it is hot and sunny again today.
The French Open tennis championships start today. I'm also looking forward to the Monaco GP. __________________
