The cathy yan film is on track to spend nearly $63 million in state on qualified expenditures.
“we are excited to be awarded an incentive from the california film & tv tax credit program, which will allow us to produce ‘birds of prey’ in the golden state,” said warner bros. Pictures’ senior vice president kelley smith-wait. “the project will have a large footprint and create hundreds of new jobs for women and men in our industry.”

^ How do you feel about it? I feel like I'd want her in a cameo of another film first, like MoS2, but I'd also love another female hero in the mix that could interact with a bunch of established characters.

I'm not sure yet. The TV show is doing really well. Melissa nails it as Kara/Supergirl. I think it's too early to judge. The timing of the announcement makes sense considering Helen Slater had a panel at SDCC for the Bluray release.

Kate has an Army background, so her having tattoos actually makes sense from a practical standpoint.

Ruby Rose is out of the "age range" they were casting for, but Rappaport Casting hasn't made a mistake yet, and so I don't doubt that she's the right choice for the role.
