They don't give much away on plot, and even trailers can be minimal for plot points.

It's irritating in the lack of info but what I find can be much worse is a misleading trailer. you think for the entirety of the promos and onto the theatre watch that you're getting one movie and it's nothing like advertised.

Nowadays for sure, I saw a trailer for a horror movie that gave away pretty much all the deaths in the film plus who the killer is.

^^ Wow that's pretty screwed up.
I've seen trailers that feel like they're telling the entire plot, then you go watch, and it does end up being NOTHING like advertised, but it was a GOOD change. |

I'll never get why some people give away EVERYTHING in a trailer. Maybe they are desperate to get people to see the film, but it pisses me off. I want to be surprised. The only times I can think of trailers showing too much is the BvS trailer where they showed Doomsday. Why would you show that? The other is Terminator Genysis. Movie was garbage, but they revealed in the trailer that John Conner was the terminator and I feel that would of been a great reveal. Giving away the entire plot and surprises will always be a dumb idea that helps no one.
