My god, I love Michael Shannon's version of Zod so much! :(

So well-acted, and with such a interesting, relatable motivation. He's a genocidal maniac, but he's not some kind of supremacist. Everything he does is from a sense of duty to and love for his people. He has devoted his entire life to protecting Krypton, and it is what gives his life purpose. Who doesn't want to save the people they love, or find meaning in their life?
