Love the quote you already put in.

Are you guys generally fans of dystopia? Any other favorite dystopian authors/books? I tend to lean more to utopia and Marge Piercy's Woman on the Edge of Time is one of my all time faves (it has dystopian portions too, but it's more utopian).

Yeah dystopian novels are my favorite. But science fiction is great too.

Arthur c Clarke
Aldous Huxley
Ray Bradbury
Phillip k dick
Margaret Atwood

Those 5 are my faves

I do generally like dystopia, playing with ideas of what could be

Love that exploration of the terrible social orders that could come out of ideas and practices that are already there too.

Awesome. I've only read Huxley and Atwood out of them, but am curious about the rest because they are so iconic.

it's a good way to point out what's ridiculous in our own society

Thanks for starting this. I've read some of her poetry and short stories and of course The Handmaid's Tale but not her other novels. I need to get on that.

You'd probably like it since you like her books because she brings her poetic style to her prose as well imo. I had to read some of her poems for uni, but I ended up really liking them so it didn't feel like a chore.

I would definitely recommend her poetry. It's beautiful like the rest of her work.
