I loved the ending and June saying she lied.. That scene was amazing!
Elisabeth totally nailed it I do sympathize a little for Serena after this ep because I feel her being unlucky and I feel she's trying to survive in this world in the best way she can. I don't think her original vision is how Gilead is right now.. I think she had a different vision. I hope we get another ep (this season or next one) where we learn more about her feelings about the current situation. __________________

I loved this episode. It was so interesting to see how Serena Joy had a hand in making Gilead what it is. The change to make her a writer was a god one. And the ending with Offred and the ambassador might be my fave scene of the show. The direction was gorgeous too.

I loved the insight into Serena. Went went from being outspoken to having to be silent in the corner. But she's still a product of the society. I dont think this is what she quite invisioned.
But reproduction as a national trade is a dumb idea. As a theory is interesting, but when you start to actually follow it, then its just dumb. Thats when you start forcing your view on those that dont share it. We have a separation of church and state for a reason. __________________

This one was just a bit too dramatic for me... Just in how it was filmed and with all the slow mo and stuff.
The flashbacks of Serena Joy were strange to me. They were nuts even back then . But in a way it was sad to see how close they were and now what their lives are... I mean, does she honestly feel she's better off now? She seems miserable. And she was the pioneer for this. The scene with June and Nick outside with the hand hold sfdsfds. BUT THEN THE ONE IN THE HALLWAY CAN THEY NOT. My heart cant take this. sfdsfsd. i love them together but then Nick pisses me off too. Like, shes venting to him and all he can say is "can I get you some water?" Like come on dude, talk to her like a normal person. Make her feel like she's not alone here. That definitely frustrates me about him.... but I did love when she told him off. UGH it was horrendous watching June have to lie and say it was her choice to be a handmaid and that she was happy. So frustrating. It gives me joy that the ambassador visiting was a female. SUCK ON THAT. I loved all the truth she was spitting the whole room. When she brought up Serena Joy rioting and when she asked how it felt that women weren't allowed tor had her book. OMG those scenes gave me life. These people need to realize what a terrible world they are living in! Sucks she couldnt/wouldnt help June in the end. I was a little confused on why June went back and kissed the commander? What was she trying to do exactly? Just get back in his good graces? We saw a TINY bit of humanity from Aunt Lydia when she stood up to Serena Joy. But it feels a bit random because up until this point we've seen her be nothing but horrible. Bringing in the children was freaking CRUEL. Those poor maids. The ending speech from June was amazing but risky. And I fond it odd the guy from Mexico just happened to know Luke was alive. I guess he sent them there somehow? |
