While Princess Margaret and Lord Snowdon visit the USA, the queen, at the bidding of Harold Wilson, asks them to make a side trip to Washington, D.C. to ask President Johnson for financial assistance for the United Kingdom.

loved seeing young Elizabeth and Margaret again in this ep! it was really sad though that even at such a young age Margaret tried to convince the palace that she'd be better queen than E

poor thing.. shame on Tommy for snapping at her like that, she was just a kid.

seeing Johnson made me hate him even more if that's even possible

what a terrible man he was and I'm glad the show didn't want to hide that. he hated JFK so much ofc he was definitely part of the conspiracy too.
however Margaret did so well entertaining that a-hole so GB got the loan. it's such a shame she's always been such a good resource and she never got any credit for it

Interesting to see how Margaret's unique approach to diplomacy actually worked here.

This has been my favorite ep. I loved the focus on Margaret and how she practically saved UK & US relations. It also showed us the stark difference between the sisters. That ending killed me with Margaret's hopeful face and PP & QE basically just ignoring her and went about their usual way. It also goes to show the very strict tradition of the royal family and it's protocols, which btw, was spoken about in this ep. I didn't know that after addressing QE "Your majesty", you have to call her ma'am afterwards.

Yeah Johnson was despicable and such a stuck up. I can't believe he refused an invitation by the Queen. We're also starting to see some cracks between Lord Snowdon & Margaret in this ep.

I liked this ep too

also because of the sister relationship! and how their jealousy of one another always continues it seems
but also to see more of M's relationship with Tony..

I also laughed at the convo of QE and the PM about Margaret & Johnson and the game they were playing.

Wilson: Princess Margaret won the evening with this one, "There was a young lady from Dallas who used a dynamite stick as a phallus. They found her..."
QE: You've made it this far.
Wilson: "They found her vagina in North Carolina and her arsehole in Buckingham Palace."
QE: Bravo.

Oh they did away with Johnson's eyeglasses in the ep.

HBC was so brilliant in that scene.

I'm sure that was a lot of fun to film! It was nice to see Margaret in her element
but like they said it was probably a lot of luck!

I did think Philip speech about dull and dazzling is intresting. I enjoy Margaret but I agree that Elizabeth personality makes her a better queen in the long run liked how Margaret was able to win over Johnson and I liked the scene with Wilson and the queen it was hilarious
