People are pointing out how Jonathan barely got any scenes with Will and Joyce this season + the more I think about it, the more it bugs me too

Maybe I'd understand it if Jonathan didn't live with them anymore, but he does. Also, one of the major fandom complaints of Season 2 was that the Byers were deprived of family time together.

Even Charlie Heaton has recently voiced his opinion on it that Charlie and Joyce have been robbed of quality family time together and he would like that relationship to be re-established in Season 4:

I agree, I wasn't crazy for all the choices made in s3 either. but some of the new team-ups were really great so we got something but lost something too

When the writers add things, they don't seem to know how to balance new/old things very well.

Without spoilers, I will say that Nancy/Joyce embrace in 3x08 was beautiful and Jonathan witnessing it was like watching his two favorite girls in the world together

her boss was such an ass. i dont think there was anything she could have done/said that would impressed him .

I would've loved to have seen Joyce witness that harassment, maybe in a situation where she was visiting Jonathan at lunchtime. Joyce would've been enraged.
