I feel so bad for Toby's health in the show, but I am so glad he said something, even if shouted it about the whole IVF thing. He's always such a top lad.

I do feel sorry for Kate, like if it's something she wants to try then she should, health risk or not. If it doesn't work there are other things she can try.

Randall broke my heart so many time in this episode, well not him, just his story. Also the whole bit when Kevin told him Kate said she was the only one who could bring a bit of "dad." BROKE MY HEART. Randall always gets the short end of the stick! Evey chichi was it? Said he didn't belong with them too.

I really hope that Kate can notice the behavior of Toby bec if it's continue like that then she should know what's wrong w/ him..

Now, we know about Kate and Kevin's addiction since Rebecca was allow like that bec they were grieving, but no, I wish that she should say something which as Randall did.. But I always wonder what if Randall did went to school.. I'm sure that he wouldn't meet Beth and have her as his wife and have children w/ her..

I wish that Kate didn't said that to kevin like that about "bit of dad".. Sigh..

Don’t worry she already has noticed and asked him twice if he’s okay. I doubt that if he got worse that she’d suddenly just ignore it when she has already recognised it.

It’s been 2 days and i’m Still not over what Kate said. I feel like that was bang out of order, fighting or not.

Another episode of This Is Us to enjoy while having another thing to be upset with Kate about.

I am telling ya, the writers really can't go a full episode anymore without making Kate do or say something I will completely disagree with or be upset with.
Now this episode, I was actually enjoying her and liking the backstory to seeing how/why she gained weight again when she was young, after Jack's death. That flashback of the past between Rebecca and Kate was so hard to watch because it felt like Kate was inside voice screaming for help and Rebecca was too broken herself to even do anything to help her. I think Kate said she gained like 28 points and Rebecca looked and just told her she understood instead of putting her foot down to put a stop to it which probably contributed in the reasons why Kate grew up to resent Rebecca.

I loved that it was Randall to notice and truly sort of take Jack's role in the flashbacks. After Jack died, it seemed like it was really only Randal to continue honoring his legacy and putting his family first and pushing his sadness to the side for everyone.

He told Kate that Kevin was drinking and Rebecca was gaining weight and was so honest with Rebecca about how she was really doing nothing to stop it.

When Randall got accepted to Howard as well, it was sad because clearly we knew something was going to happened to put a stop to it and of course it was the awesome mature Randall who withdrew his own application because he knew his family needed him. What a perfect son and I loved this episode bringing my favorite dynamic of the series back in Randall/Rebecca. I just always enjoy watching their scenes because of how incredible their relationship is and how close they always bonded.

When Rebecca explained to Randall that Jack wanted to get a new house before he died. But it was Rebecca to tell Jack she wanted to stay at the old house. That's gotta be some guilt to live with.

Toby really needs to be honest about what he's going through... and I didn't really care for him blowing up at Rebecca when the discussion was as usual Kate fault... but Toby never calls Kate out on anything which is why he'll end up depressed as he's starting to get now... being the yes agreeing man only works for so long.

Now to the comment of the episode:
"I'm the only one in the family who's gonna carry on a piece of Dad."

How is that true????? Is it because she was Jack's favorite??? because otherwise I don't get the comment at all and what a slap in the face to Jack's other children.
What has Kate truly did to carry out a piece of dad besides feel sympathy for herself and bring everyone else down?

If anything, wouldn't it be Randall who has carried on a piece of Dad most thus far? and who has truly tried to make his dad proud.

He has a successful marriage. ✓
He has 2 biological kids and 1 adoptive one. ✓
He stayed by Rebecca (his mother side) when Jack (his father) died. ✓
He put his family before his own happiness. ✓
Didn't go to his dream school because his family. ✓

Seems Randall thus far has done the best job.

And Kevin, yes I take you serious. Just gotta stay on the right path man. lol
Also seems Zoe is fallen more in love with Kevin... more than she's willing to admit at this point.

Back to the comment, I felt so bad for Randall when Kevin told him about what Kate said. You can tell Randall just felt like he didn't belong after that.

Which I hate how she said that.. But ugh, I hate how she act like bec Jack think that she's his fav child??!?! But I feel like she was trying to make herself feel better than others bec Kevin was wreck on his own and Randall isn't truly their brother, but still..

^Randall is truly their brother though. Even if it's not biological, they ALL grew up together since they were infants, before they knew how to say words, before they knew different skin complexions. lol
They are the Big 3, and that's how they were brought up as brothers and sister.

So yeah... no excuse for Randall and of saying that to Kevin was just ridiculous.

Yeah, that broke my heart for Randall. Especially since we just saw him trying to fit in to different parts of his life and that not working out the way he wanted it to. But to hear that Kate said that, I can imagine it hurt him alot. Kate meant it in the 'biological' way but it's still something that isn't fair at all to Randall. He's been with this family just as long as Kate and Kevin have and he's part of Jack and Rebecca just as much as they are.

Kate might have also said this b/c she still holds guilt towards what happened to Jack. And she wants to bring a piece of himself into this world as a way to atone.

I hated what Kate said too. She gets so self absorbed at times. But at the same time she is going through an intense experience. And she's being judged pretty harshly for it. And I'm not defending her but the hormones that she's getting injected have both physical and mental symptoms.

I'm hoping what she said gets discussed with Randall and she'll apologize.
