MLB Off-Season Discussion Thread: Let the Wheelin' and Dealing Begin!
I'm a Marlins fan, but i'm not reallycheering for them. I love Boston, but i'm more rooting against the Yankees than i am for Boston.
The Yankmes do not want to go into a game 7 vs Pedro. He'll frigin' no hit themboys if thathappens. Though he'l lose the perfect game whenhe hits Jeter in the 4th inning. __________________

Since when are you a Marlins fan?
And like Neon said...they actually have fans? Most didn't seem to support their team until it was obvious they were going to win the wild card. Blah. I'm still reeling from last night's debacle. I just hope Kerry Wood is able to pitch the game of his life tonight. That is all. __________________

Chi are you watching the game tonight?
I don't know if I'll be able to. Too much emotion for me. |

That fan who caught the ball is such an idiot! I bet if the Cubs don't win tonight he will be the most hated man in Chicago, if he isn't already.
I bet the Marlins fans love the guy though. The Marlins coach said there was nothing wrong with the guy catching the ball. Well of course he's going to say that since it helped his team out. I bet if it was the other way around though he wouldn't be saying that! __________________

You can gripe about the guy messing with the foul ball, but what really killed the Cubs was the error by Gonzalez (I think he was the one playing short then) If he fields that cleanly he gets the lead runner at 2nd and you have a runner on first with 2 outs. Yeah losing the one out from the pop up was demoralizing, but it didn't let anyone on base or any runs score. And even if Alou did catch it it was only the 2nd out. I mean the Cubs did give up 8 runs after that. Basically the Cubs just blew it. Dusty left Prior out there too long, and their bullpen and defense gave them no help

There is no saying Alou would have caught the ball.

In the stands, the kid did nothing wrong.
We could just remedy the situation be eliminating all fan participation, just televise it all and allow no fan interaction at all. __________________

But there is still debate if the ball was actually in the stands or not. And YES even in the stands..Its not illegal to try and catch the ball. Just stupid. __________________

If the Cubs win today...it'll all be moot.
And I think they have a pretty good chance...I mean, Mark Redman vs Kerry Wood? C'mon. __________________
