Bob Morley Hot Seat [April’s Turn] #3 - Any burning questions for April? Post them here!

Continue here, guys. :)

Ask away. I think I answered all the questions in the last thread. And told Amelia about the Bellamy cat.

I have one for now. :P What is the one piece of advice that someone has told you, that has stuck with you always?

Hmm. As cliché as it sounds . . . probably the "golden rule" of Treat others as you want to be treated.

That Bellamy cat story is so cute! We have a stray that hangs out around our campus, too... I forget his name, though. Oops.

And the Clarke cat sounds like grumpy cat, which reminds me of:

What made you want to become a teacher?
Tell me a story about a in influential teacher in your own life.

What made you want to become a teacher?
Well, I was always helping my peers throughout middle school and then especially in high school, particularly with math and English. I would proofread essays for people and was known for being a good writer. My peers eventually started saying, "I really get it when you explain it" and "You should be a teacher" and things like that. I started to listen. When I was seventeen, I went to a college fair, debating at the time whether I wanted to be an English major or English Education major. And somebody said, "Oh, lots of people with English degrees end up working in the business world." My mom gasped, because she works in the business world and hates it, so that's when I decided to major in Education instead.

Tell me a story about an influential teacher in your own life.
This isn't usually the first person that comes to mind, but looking back . . . I can't even remember her name, but there was this speech and language pathologist who had to work with me through second grade, because I had a bit of a lisp and couldn't say certain sounds. (i.e. I would pronounce the name Katie as Tatie.) She worked with me and another student for years, and I overcame it. In retrospect, I owe her so much. Because if I had never had someone working with me to overcome those speech difficulties, I may never have developed into the person I am, may never have gotten my job as a teacher, etc. I doubt I would have been confident enough to become a teacher if I'd never overcome my impediment, so I owe a lot to her for that. I do wish I remembered her name!

I love those stories, April. They're a lot more interesting than mine, that's for sure [in relation to choosing a career path]. It sounds like you have a natural knack for explaining things to people, so that's pretty cool. I kind of could explain things to classmates at times, but they never really came to me for help.

Is it still your turn, btw? IDK how long we go for on the thread.

April7739 07-05-2017 03:22 PM

I don't know how long we go for, either. Until we get the sense that we're done, I guess.

More questions for you, then!

What bug do you hate above all other bugs, and why?
Do you have a name for objects in your life, like your car or your computer?
Who is one character on the 100 who you believe to be severely underrated or underutilized and why?

Hmm. I'm not particularly fond of spiders, though I guess technically they aren't bugs. Wasps are clearly evil.

Do you have a name for objects in your life, like your car or your computer?
I have a huge binder named "Big Papa." :lmao: That's about all I can think of.

Who is one character on the 100 who you believe to be severely underrated or underutilized and why?
Underrated? Definitely my boy Jasper. It seems like it took his death for people to really start talking about the importance and depth of the character. Underused? Probably Miller. In addition to being a black gay male (and therefore very important representation), I just also really like his character and find myself constantly wanting to see more.

You come up with good questions, Amelia! :)

If you could create your own The 100 character, who would they be and why?
Who would they interact with?
Why is Sarah so sexy?

I love that Grumpy Cat/Clarke meme, Amelia. :lmao:

 Reminds me of the fact that my dad has a random file called "Hoo Hoo." We still don't know how it came to be named that, and neither does he.

Favourite subject in school, apart from English?
How tall are you?
Have you gone camping before? If so, did you enjoy it or absolutely detest it?

Thanks! And "Big Papa" made me laugh.

Who do you think is the strongest actor/actress on the show besides Bob, and why?
Would you ever want to live in space for six years [knowing you'd be 100 percent guaranteed to be able to return]?

April7739 07-06-2017 01:26 PM

If you could create your own The 100 character, who would they be and why?
Oh my gosh, I have no idea. My problem is that I like so many of our established characters so damn much. Maybe a character named . . . April?

Who would they interact with?
Who would interact---you know, interact---with Bellamy? :eyebrows:

Why is Sarah so sexy?
I don't know! Perhaps it's because of her personality.

Favourite subject in school, apart from English?
History or math.

How tall are you?
5'2" (I feel like we may be the same height, Sarah, if I recall?)

Have you gone camping before? If so, did you enjoy it or absolutely detest it?
Nope, I've never technically been camping, and I have absolutely NO DESIRE to go. Ever.

Who do you think is the strongest actor/actress on the show besides Bob, and why?
I think Richard is an incredibly strong actor and that's probably part of the reason why they brought him back. I've always kind of felt like Marie was one of the strongest (if not the strongest) for the girls, but Eliza has probably showed the most growth of the entire cast, and in these past two seasons in particular, I think she's just really done a great job. Plus, I think these are among the most challenging characters to play. Devon Bostick is supremely underrated, though.

Would you ever want to live in space for six years [knowing you'd be 100 percent guaranteed to be able to return]?

Sure, if Bellamy's up there with me. ;) If he's on the ground, leave me on the ground.
