Watched Dune few days ago, here is my review.

To begin, Dune is not a perfect movie. It was made in 1984, there were a lot of limitations, especially with visual effects at the time, and having to film out in an open desert. Naturally, the movie has its flaws on the technical aspects. So comparing it with movies nowadays doesn't make any sense so I won't. Some of the costumes, creatures, and make up effects were really awesome. Why David Lynch decided to give every mentat giant furry eyebrows is beyond me

It's not a bad movie. It's bizarre, had a new great idea and was mostly entertaining. Some scenes were a bit too long and some conversations boring, but I think this was due to limited filming techniques.

The syfy 3 episode mini series from 2001 with a tv budget had even worse special effects lol and the costumes also looked rather cheap plus the setting wasn't very impressive nor were many of the actors (though some were pretty good), but the story writing, dialogues, etc were better and reminded me much more of got, bc it's closer to the book and also explores more the live in the imperial palace on kaitain. Similar to the red keep parts in kings landing on got.

The main idea seems interesting and with nowadays possibilities it will surely be a good TV show

Movies about the main books actually, the show is more a prequel story based on other books written by the son of the original writer.

i am at episode 3 already. the only thing when i came home was watching Stranger Things

Oh I get you but I'm not a fan of bingewatching when the season is so short. Won't watch more than 1-2 eps per day.

i binge watch it in 2 days because i am so impatient and can't stop myself but actually i'd like to do it your way, cause you have more of the show when you don't binge watch.

Yeah the duffer brothers are very good showrunners and writers/directors. Never seen any new movie or show capture the 80s feeling as good as they did.
