Thanks! I'm on episode two and looking forward to finding out more about Gil. He seems very angry and very loyal.

Also-it's interesting to see this play out in how Michael Raymond-James looks. I typically think of him as being a pretty boy, and that's definitely not the case in this show.

He's quick to decide he wants to kill people, and then the other guys have to hold him back.

I think he's different I think he's more angry than neal cause of what happen to him

neal was hurt and was a thief, whereas gil has a lot more emotional /psychological issues cuz of what happen to them in their past

Agreed. I think he is even more beat up emotionally because of the warden's parties and the role he played in them.

Yes, he certainly is a lot angrier but both characters were hurt from their past. That was the link I felt. And did some bad things in the present, but Gil magnifies those bad things to worse things.

I like that he has Jessie as a companion, but IMO she is just with him because she can't be with Jackson.

Neal also had a tough childhood and was hurt but he isent as psyvchologically beat up as Gil. Plus neal wasent for revenge

I fell hard for this guy the moment I saw him on Law & Order: SVU. (I then realized it was a lot sooner because I remembered his appearance on ER which was ages ago!)

Oh man don't even get me started on Neal. That is one heartbreak I will never get over

I hated that they killed him off. And I hated that Neal and Emma were never endgame.

Neal became my favorite OUAT (next to Emma) from the Pilot when Regina asked about Henry's father and Emma replied, "There was one...no, he doesn't even know." Sure we didn't know anything yet but still, I knew he would become a favorite because Emma's response added mystery.

So then when MRJ was cast as Emma's ex, I was drawn in more so.

I have written lots of Emma/Neal fanfics and I keep trying to get around to finishing others or starting new ones but I haven't had the time.

And then of course there was MRJ's role in 'Sons of Liberty' which was an awesome mini series!

As for his role here on GOS, love it.

His relationship with Jess is sweet but it's hard to accept when Jess is clearly still hung up on Jackson and you can see it in her eyes that she still ponders the whole 'what if' type stories in her head.
