Shadowhunters Episode discussion thread 2x05 Dust and Shadows
  2x05: Dust and Shadows Air date: Jan 30, 2017 at 8:00 PM ET Clary takes desperate actions after the attack on the Institute in “Dust and Shadows,” an all-new episode of “Shadowhunters,” airing Monday, January 30th, on Freeform. After the recent attack on the Institute, the Shadowhunters are left devastated and wounded. Trying to regroup, each of the Shadowhunters deals with the situation their own way. Meanwhile, Simon moves home but finds it is not so easy to pull off his new life with his family around. I really enjoyed this episode even though the whole Warlock breeding ring was random!
Alec went through so much in this episode. First he of course was feeling guilty about what happened to Jocelyn even though it wasn't his fault. It is just who he is to feel that pain and guilt. Shooting practice was awesome and loved that his Parabatai was there for him and trying to get through to him but also knowing when to give him space  Alec apologising to Clary and meaning what he said when he would do anything to help and he backed that up by going with Clary to try and bring Jocelyn back. He knew it was a bad idea but wanted to be there for Clary. One of the cutest things all episode was Alec talking to the little girl with the gills He made her feel at ease and this is not shown enough how good Alec is  Also knowing when Clary needed help and doing his best to get to her!! Bring on next week is all I'll say I need Malec in my life __________________

I get it. Pain, grief, emotions. But even then I have very little patience with situations like this in TV shows where one of the characters wants to bring someone back from the dead. I was annoyed by Clary and really just wanted to skip her scenes
 That deal with that warlock will come back to bite her in the butt. Alec and Jace being there the way they were was great I'm suspecting Aldertree just gave Izzy drugs, at least something that will be very addicting. Not looking forward to that Poor Simon  The ending scene was absolutely beautiful! !! __________________

I agree with Aldertree and Izzy whatever he gave her seems to have a quick hit and looks to be addictive!
Simon and his mom this episode is so emotional and sad! The ending with the funeral for all the fallen brothers and shadowhunters very moving and beautiful  __________________
