"The detective returns to investigate the apparent return from the dead of his old enemy Moriarty, but another strange case is soon demanding his attention. Scotland Yard is baffled by a mysterious criminal who is defacing images of Margaret Thatcher, and Sherlock is convinced there is a more sinister purpose at work behind these acts of vandalism - which may have a connection to Mary Watson's dark past as an assassin. Benedict Cumberbatch, Martin Freeman and Amanda Abbington return for a fourth series of the detective drama."

That's a bit of a shame but as long as you can watch it in the end

^no problem i didn't know if it was such a good idea until I realized there were no sherlock thread in the television board. Just thought we could let a chance for people to discuss it if they wish to do so

Can't believe it, it was heartbreaking but SO INCREDIBLY GOOD IN MY OPINION i love being surprised even if it's like the worst god i loved it

I really enjoyed the episode and from what I've seen the fans have too. What I'm disturbed by is that

When talking to my friends about her death I could explain mofftiss's reasoning. We all said she was gonna die and we were all expecting it at the end of episode 3 and to get it now and this heartbreaking moment when Molly tells Sherlock John wants nothing to do with him was shocking but exciting in a way.
As for john having an affair (did he or no that's a debate) at first I was thinking about character assassination but in the end I realized that it wasn't. In the OH books his womanizing ways were described quite often and here the point was to show that he isn't perfect as Mary or Sherlock thinks. He doesn't like domestics hence why he's willing to run off with Sherlock in the bat of an eye and falls for the first woman showing an interest in him. I suspect the whole thing will make him feel guilty.
The fact that it's revealed in the end that Sherlock went to see the shrink was a nice callback to the first episode so much that I really think this is a way for them to tell us that this is it. It also shows how much Sherlock has grown and I've loved it.

Now I'm surprised of the medias' reactions : many were critical, saying it wasn't as good as it used to be... I agree it's not series 2 but nothing is ever going to be as good as this. To keep reminiscing about the past is unfair to the people working on the show. Also I've read many times that the show is too clever now and Im like :do they want to watch a stupid show? They didn't like series 3 because it was fan service and now they don't like it because the writers didn't listen to criticism? I'm currently listening to a podcast where Mark explains that fans are often confused about what they want and most often they want the way things were before but it can't be. It was a better episode than the abominable bride, and I reckon for now better than series three and yet people aren't happy. Now I think that because the cast is successful it's the new show that they must bring down because they broke thatcher'a statues (angering the tories) and because Benedict and Martin are now super famous... it saddens me but I'm gonna ignore it, stop reading reviews and just enjoy it.

Also the ratings weren't as good as it was (for now) but so many people were watching on livestream that like for game of thrones it's not a good representation of the actual viewership. It was still number one though
