Hope everyone is doing okay today :) It's been a really beautiful day today so i've been out of my funk today

That's good! I've been watching The Force Awakens on my phone all morning. :D

OMG such a good movie, i loved it that's a good way to spend a morning

It's amazing. I keep thinking as time goes on my love will diminish or I"ll find flaws that make it not as amazing, but even though there are some flaws, to me it's flawless. I have always been a Star Wars fan, but this movie has really upped my fangirl ante.

sparksღfly 04-06-2016 11:18 AM

I agree, i was so scared before watching it but i can't find any flaws either, my dad was critical about the fact that it's pretty close to the new hope but i was like "nope don't care" the casting is on point

Musickat18 04-06-2016 11:21 AM

:rotfl: SAME! I see the parallels but I don't think it's the "exact copy" that some people make it out to be. And the characters are much more nuanced than anything Lucas ever did. Vader, for as awesome and intimidating as he was, was never a nuanced character. He was just a pretty 2-dimensional villain. And of course the prequels were insanely flawed. But this is just...all the characters are so interesting, and the mystery just begs for more movies. I likened the ending to what it must have been when people saw Empire Strikes Back. You're just like "I have to wait HOW LONG for the next movie!?"

I find Abram's version to be a definite improvement from Lucas too  Lucas was great with the original idea but as you were saying his characters had very little shades  Plus i just love the idea of a stormtrooper realizing what he's doing and changing  and Rey is just so amazing :sigh: Plus it's true the prequels were just bad :(

Musickat18 04-06-2016 11:42 AM

I had a friend describe it this way: Lucas was great at the politics, but his character development was lacking. Abrams is great with character development, but the politics were missing.

Which i totally agree with. If I had a complaint, it would be that I want to know more about the First Order and what's going on in the galaxy. How we got here, etc. Although I'm willing to give it a pass because I suspect those questions will be explored a bit more in the following movies.

That's very true  I'd rather have Abram's vision, the prequels bored me and made me hate the characters

Most likely  i just hope Abram's knows where he's going with the storyline and won't pull a lost on us
