Wasn't quite sure, as his is far milder than other Scottish accents I've heard.

Yeah, he has lived in London for the past 20-ish years I think, so I'm sure it has gotten less strong and maybe he also tones it down on purpose when he knows he's being filmed etc. I've seen videos of him talking to his family/other Scottish people and his accent goes a lot thicker then

That makes sense. My NY accent is definitely a lot more apparent during sporting events, and generally when I'm more agitated.

I prefer his Scottish accent more. But his Estuary English accent is sooo good too.

Yeah, with his own Scottish accent he just sounds most like himself to me and I love it. He's brilliant at doing most accents though (though I'm still not huge on his American one ) and it's always fun to hear him do different ones.

I was suddenly reminded of this, where he called in to the radio to prank his then Doctor Who co-star Freema Agyeman (who is Amanita on Sense8 now, for those who might not have watched DW!) by pretending to be a weird creepy fan and it is sooooo hilarious

LMAOOOOO David. I couldn't even tell it was him, he held back on the Scottish accent. And had a hoot when Freema finally figured out it was David ("I'm so relieved it's you!").
