I’m torn, lol. I’m still to not expecting to watch because I miss Emilie, Belle and Rumbelle desperately, but I can’t help finding Detective Gold appealing (and Bobby in jeans …holy smokes; it’s always been my favorite look for him).

I want to see Rumple living in his shabby, one room apartment, thinking he’s happy, but realizing he’s miserable because he’s missing something. I want him, deep down, to remember Belle - the woman he’s loved forever - and Gideon. If we get any of that, I might be placated somewhat….

Detective Gold (his name will probably be Silver, lol) is living the Columbo life, sort of (Columbo was married, though). Bobby loves Columbo, LOVES him.

He looks a bit disheveled - he’s got the “rumpled” look going for him; He’s got an old car….

Ok, I'm back to thinking that S7 happens in an AU. And it kinda sounds to me like this new Rumple is not our Rumple but just some different (AU) version of him, and the "real" man is still living his HE with his family in SB (same with Regina and Hook).

I like the idea that Henry has travelled to an AU. It opens up a whole new world of characters for the writers to play with. It's a clever idea, really.

I think the returning characters are the ones we know, as that has been hinted at several times, but cursed.

I'm curious enough about it to want to watch, and am starting to get excited. I want to see them as cops too. Those three characters didn't have alternate characters in the curse last time, it should be fun to see.

Yeah.. I've been a bit iffy about S7 because I honestly don't like the idea of Rumple being separated from his family (again!) after everything they've been through. Belle and Gideon don't deserve that either. So this new Rumple being just some different version of him would be a kind of relief. I'd be even fine with him and Hook being friends!

On the other hand, in this case I probably won't be as invested in S7... I'm not sure that'd be necessarily a bad thing, though

I must admit I thought the panel at D23 was a bit of a mess, it was very confusing for me.

I sort of thought of an AU, but I do want Rumple to be the Rumple we have know for six years, that he is cursed and seeing his journey getting back to his family once he knows. I don't think I will be as invested if it a whole new character and not Rumple underneath.

We have to have a connection to the past 6 years, I hope SDCC will give us more info and be more clear on that because what I've read so far, my thoughts are What! , even though Bobby on screen is

I don't think there'd be much point if they weren't the versions we know, why bother having them on the show if they aren't. From a stand-point of character-development there'd be no reason to include them.

I think they are our characters who've somehow been caught up in all this, and will return to their loved ones at the end of the series.

I didn't expect much from this panel, it's next weekend that's really going to be interesting.

I was pissed off at first because it seemed that Rumple, et.. would be new characters, but like you said, it makes no sense. No one would care as there'd be no reason to be invested in them and it wouldn't even be ANY variation of ONCE - it would be a new show completely.

Adam said it wasn't a complete reboot or reset, and that's what it would have been if Rumple etc. were playing completely different characters.

I want Rumple to know, somehow, that he’s missing something....
to know that somehow he’s missing the love that he searched for for all his life, that he finally found. I want to him to have this hole in his heart, to have vague dreams about a beautiful woman in a blue dress……about a tiny librarian and an adorable little boy. I want him to sometimes wake up crying and reaching out to someone who isn’t there……

THAT would make this story have real emotion, real heart (again, the same applies to Regina and Hook).
