I wonder if the writers would have had Ralph somehow involved in how they do get back together. I wouldn't want Walter and Paige to get back together *for* Ralph, and I wouldn't want to see him stuck in the middle. But I think he might at some point find a way to go see Walter. He's old enough that he might not want to just accept his mom's side of the story.

I could definitely see him being a bit of an instigator in that sense - not, as you say, them getting back together for him, because that's unhealthy - but like how in Strife on Mars he kinda came up to his mom and was like "okay hear me out on this..."

In some ways, I think it's good he wasn't there for the break-up. He might actually be able to see the situation more objectively - depending on how much everyone tells him. But I think Ralph would want to dig in and find out exactly what happened to break up his family.

And it would have been really difficult for him to witness, especially so soon after his rejection from Patty.

It might have really traumatized him. Possibly to the point that he would close off from emotions completely, much like Walter did.

I'm debating just pretending the series ended with Quintis getting the money from the team so they can have their family and Waige/Ralph having the family dinner. That's a hole in the sand I can stick my head into.

Yeah, definitely. Personally I find "raised as family but not biologically" as weirder to wrap my head around romantically than "actually family but didn't know". Like that brother and sister adopted by different families and met without knowing they were siblings and ended up getting married? Like yeah it's weird but I still think it would be weirder to have two people not related but raised in the same house AS siblings getting together.

I've met a few couples who marry each other's siblings. For example, my fifth grade teacher's brother is married to her husband's sister. So their children were called double cousins because of the double relation.

A family friend is in a similar situation where her brother was married to her husband's sister as well... Both families had daughters around the same age, and before my family friend's niece died, you might think the cousins were twins because they looked so much alike, with only different color hair.

Just think if Florence had a much younger sibling or a niece who was around Ralph's age, and they end up marrying someday, lol. Then it would be really weird (but not as messed up as the Once Upon a Time family tree ).
