That is a pretty serious frown. It reminds me a bit of the guy who played Phlox on Star Trek Enterprise who had this weird smile. It's almost the same thing upside down.

It was a bit too soap-opera-ish. It felt like the main theme of the show was the shock value of the Pope having mistresses and children. Which I get is a controversial and sensational, but I'm sure there's something else about the Pope and the Borgia family that might make for interesting drama.

I just found out that Elyes is appearing at MegaCon in Orlando this weekend. I wish I'd known sooner. My best friend lives in Orlando, this would have been a great excuse to go visit.
