I do wonder though, when Happy would have time to work in her dad's garage. She's pretty busy with her day job, after all.

Actually, my original thought wasn't that she would keep the garage fully open for business, but that she could put in just enough time to keep Patrick's best customers happy while he's gone. She was presumably already helping her dad out in her spare time, so that wouldn't be impossible. However, I'm willing to suspend disbelief to see Toby twirling a sign.

Toby could also help by keeping the books for her. I'm sure with his history at the track and poker tables, he's very good with math.

It would be kind of fun if, while trying to just keep an eye on the place, Happy winds up growing the business, making it extremely successful to the point that she has to hire additional mechanics. Can you imagine having Happy as a boss?

Personally, I'd rather have Happy as a boss than Walter. I think she's actually better with people than she gives herself credit for.

I think that's true, but I suspect Happy would be more demanding as a boss. Walter is so superior to everyone that he just doesn't expect much from other people. He also has a great ability to see the talents that other people have. Happy, I think, would have an initial expectation that her employees would be as good, at least mechanically, as she is. She might get frustrated and irritated and feel she has to step in an correct them all that time so that the work is up to her standards. That can be exhausting for both parties involved.

I agree Happy would be somewhat demanding, but I don't see her being as overbearing as you've described. I imagine her reacting to an employee's work the same way she did to the oxygen tank her dad made in Robots - noting that it's not quite up to her level of craftsmanship, but ultimately giving it her seal of approval. Obviously it depends on your personality, but for me, a demanding boss is much easier to deal with than one who is condescending like Walter. That just drives me up the wall.

I agree. I was a little disappointed there was no mention of him during the wedding. I would have liked to have seen a quick chat between Happy and Cabe about the situation, with Cabe perhaps expressing regret that her Dad couldn't be there and Happy saying that she doesn't blame Cabe for what happened.

We haven't even seen her visit him in jail. You would think Toby would encourage her to visit as he knows how important it is for her to maintain the relationship she started to build with her dad.

I also feel she would be keen to keep his business going as it would make her feel as though she's doing something to help him while he's incarcerated.

I agree. Toby really encouraged her to make amends with her dad and try to rebuild that relationship, it seems really odd that he just let it drop.

I wonder if perhaps, for Patrick's safety, she isn't able to visit him. He went to prison in another state under a fake name to protect him from the men he testified against. Her visiting might reveal his true identity and put him in danger.

I really wish the writers had revisited this storyline to clear up some of these questions and to explore Happy's feelings about her dad's incarceration further.
