I did make a poke at procrastination today with a little personal administrative stuff. Took my car to be inspected, paid the registration renewal, paid my medicare bill and called to get a return authorization for some stuff I ordered that isn't the right part for what I need. I feel so accomplished.

I was a little productive today. Ordinarily this would be a Monday I work, but we changed the schedule and at least for now, I have all Mondays off. So I think my brain was pre-programmed to be up and at 'em today.

Took the puppy to get groomed today and while she was having her spa day, I went and got a haircut, too. Funny it takes three times as long for her as it does for me.

Meanwhile when I go get my hair done it takes almost 3 hours. (But I do highlights and sometimes color, so that's time consuming.)

These days my hair is pretty simple. Just a quick shampoo and my hair is very short, so it usually just needs a trim.

Expecting a winter storm on Sunday. Unfortunately, it's looking more like a nasty combination of sleet, snow and freezing rain rather than a nice snowstorm.

That is the worst. We've had quite a bit of that lately (par for the course here) but this weekend seems like it'll be nice-ish. I'm doing a lot of driving for work so I'm glad of that.

We are expected to get 3 to 7 inches, though with past history, it usually snows to about 3-4 inches in this area.

Aside from that, this week has been really tough to get through. Found out two days ago from my mother that my Papa (her father) is dying. He was admitted into pre-hospice a few weeks ago and he’s now showing signs of death. we can’t go and see him before he goes because he lives in SC. We will only have enough bereavement for the Memorial, whenever that will be. He won’t make it to his 91st birthday in February.

I've been cooking in preparation for the big winter storm. It's sort of contradictory, but when I'm stuck inside because of a storm, I like to have comfort foods that I can just grab and heat. I don't want to have to cook anything. So I made a big pot of ground beef stew plus I made a pot roast with gravy. Took half the stew and the pot roast to my brother and sister-in-law. Pot roast is for the SIL because she doesn't like the stew (if you can believe that!)

I spoke with my grandma last night, and the latest update I have is that he's still holding on, but he doesn't open his eyes anymore. All he does is sleep. She wants him to let go because she knows it is what's best for him, but Papa is being as stubborn as ever. I'm glad I am not there to see him suffer, and I hope... I pray that he will be at peace sooner than later.

One of my aunts lives in the same city as my grandparents so she is with Papa.
