I enjoyed the Toby/Cabe scenes as well, but it does seem they've neglected the Cabe/Walter relationship this year, when there were a ton of opportunities to showcase it with all the issues that Walter has dealt with.

But it's not like there weren't any Cabe/Walter scenes. Just off the top of my head I can think of a couple in Crazy Train and Dam Breakthrough. The writers just decided to explore another relationship this season too, which I think is a good thing.

Yeah, but while it's a good thing to explore other dynamics, they really pulled back on Cabe/Walter, which was established in the pilot as being very complex and throughout S1 as really important. It really ticked me off how in 2.06 everyone was talking about how Elia was Walter's father figure, because like no, they spent the entirety of S1 showing how Cabe was Walter's father figure and how important that relationship was, then all of a sudden in S2 they're flat out saying that Walter's father figure was someone else. Like even taking the time to type that paragraph out has my hands shaking I'm so angry about it.

And like Heidi said, with all the emotional issues Walter has dealt with, with Megan, Paige, Ralph, and Toby, I'm really disappointed that they didn't have him look to Cabe for any of that, or have Cabe come to him. Yeah, it's great that he sensed Toby needed him, but I can't believe he hasn't sensed that Walter may need him too. He can explore his relationship with another character without a previous relationship just being pushed aside.

I agree about the Walter/Elia stuff. I never saw Elia as a father figure to Walter at all.

As far as the Cabe/Walter relationship, I felt like there were enough moments between the two of them to establish that Cabe was still there for Walter. There's only so much time in an episode, so if the writers had to work in additional Cabe/Walter scenes, they would have had to sacrifice another storyline or relationship.

I really hope S3 revisits Cabe with his passion for art. I would love it if the Cyclone attended an art show where his pieces are featured just to support him.

Oh my gosh - a Cabe Art Show would be awesome. I would just hope that Walter can refrain from disparaging comments about art in general.

Yes! I'd definitely like to see some follow-up on Cabe and his art class. I was surprised they just dropped that after the one episode.

I'd also love to see some more Cabe/Toby scenes. I really enjoyed their father/son relationship in season 2.

I want to see Cabe get a love interest. Preferably someone he's been seeing for weeks before Scorpion finds out about it. He could even make some snarky comment about being the only one who can keep his love life and his work life separate.

Haha, he'll have Paige to elbow him in the side if it ever comes down to that, lmao.

I honestly think Walter's opinion on art has changed since S1. Sure, he may not really understand the aesthetics of it, but he understands that art is important to some people like Cabe and Paige.

I suspect Walter's opinion on art, as well as a lot of other things, has changed. Or at least he's more open to the idea that things he may not consider very important are extremely important to others, and that he needs to have some respect for that. He's learning that his is not the only valid opinion.
