USA does month, day year, because we go off of how we say it. I would say "my birthday is January 28," and not "my birthday is the 28th of January," and we write it the same way we say it.

Whoops! I didn't realize Canada does it that way as well - I know it's like that in Europe. But yes - we US folks do it backwards.
