I think that most if not all of the women in James Bond films only have appeared in 1 of them.

ina_am 08-25-2021 02:57 PM

I've only seen Casino Royale from the movies, tbh :thud:

Hi everyone. I just discovered this thread. :thud: I love these two so much! :bawl:

Oh, me too! Believe me, I understand all of the reasons they can't / won't do that... but I still hope. I can't help it. We've gotten a few references to Vesper within the rest of Craig's Bond films... so at the very least I hope we get that in No Time to Die. If they won't bring Vesper back from the dead, maybe we'll get to see Bond visiting her grave. That would be so poignant and beautiful.

I believe that is correct. The only exception will be Léa Seydoux. She played Madeleine in Spectre and will reprise the role in No Time to Die. (Hopefully her chemistry with Daniel is better the second time around....) She's a lovely actress, but she doesn't hold a candle to Eva IMO. :(

Spoiler:

Oh, this sounds so intriguing:thud:. I at least expect they mention her in the new movie :bawl: :thud:

Jen's Herald 08-28-2021 10:28 AM

there is no way Vesper is still alive  rest in peace.

these films are far more grounded in some semblance of 'reality' when it comes to character deaths, unlike the FF films and others.

i agree, i would love to see James bring some flowers to her grave, and show his grief.

kerbear28 08-28-2021 06:32 PM

^ I agree with that. Craig's Bond films are much more grounded in reality. I'm sure they could think of creative ways to resurrect Vesper (like she was somehow resuscitated later on and kept away from Bond for all these years by either MI6 or by Spectre...). As much as I would love to see Vesper back, I don't think anything they could come up with would seem realistic enough - too much like fanfiction? That's why I would be MORE than satisfied if we simply get to hear her name spoken again, and see James visit her grave. I would love anything that shows that she's still in his heart.

ina_am 08-29-2021 02:57 PM

Yes, please, that would be really moving and so sweet

Jen's Herald 08-29-2021 06:31 PM

i am much more a fan of the Daniel Craig 007, than all the other actors tbh. that said, i am still a huge fan of Goldeneye, with Pierce Brosnan and Sean Bean.

canflam 08-30-2021 05:42 PM

He's good, but Sean Connery is my favourite to have played the role of ''James Bond''.

ina_am 08-31-2021 01:49 PM

I don't have a favorite to be honest

kerbear28 09-01-2021 07:30 PM

I suppose I would say that Daniel Craig is my favorite... though truthfully I haven't seen many of the older films from beginning to end. Obviously, Sean Connery is iconic in the role, and I do love Pierce Brosnan as well (especially in Goldeneye). I just appreciate the humanity, vulnerability and grittiness that Daniel brought to the role. He's so captivating to watch. He's truly brought Bond into the modern era. Plus, I love that his series of films has a cohesive story arc - they're not just stand alone movies.

Hopefully this is ok to post here, but there was a little montage of Daniel's previous Bond films in the new Final US trailer for No Time to Die. It's about the first 30 seconds. (It doesn't have TOO much new from previous trailers that have been released, but if you plan on seeing the movie and don't want to be too spoiled.... here's your warning. :) )

ina_am 09-02-2021 05:14 PM

Thanks so much for the video :yay: I might still try to see the new movie when it comes out.

canflam 09-02-2021 05:18 PM

''Dr' No'' & ''From Russia With Love'' are the first 2 ''James Bond'' films that were released & they are classics through my eyes. I hope that you watch them sometime. I still have others to see that Sean Connery starred in, such as ''Goldfinger''.

kerbear28 09-02-2021 07:38 PM

^ ^ You're welcome. :D I'm going to try to see the new movie when it comes out, too. It looks good! And I just need to know how it all ends. First, I need to find a way to re-watch all of the previous movies, including Casino Royale.

^ I definitely want to see both of those movies from beginning to end (rather than just clips). Classic indeed.

canflam 09-02-2021 08:05 PM

Well, if you have libraries around, they could have James Bond films on DVD available.
