I suppose I would say that Daniel Craig is my favorite... though truthfully I haven't seen many of the older films from beginning to end. Obviously, Sean Connery is iconic in the role, and I do love Pierce Brosnan as well (especially in Goldeneye). I just appreciate the humanity, vulnerability and grittiness that Daniel brought to the role. He's so captivating to watch. He's truly brought Bond into the modern era. Plus, I love that his series of films has a cohesive story arc - they're not just stand alone movies.

Hopefully this is ok to post here, but there was a little montage of Daniel's previous Bond films in the new Final US trailer for No Time to Die. It's about the first 30 seconds. (It doesn't have TOO much new from previous trailers that have been released, but if you plan on seeing the movie and don't want to be too spoiled.... here's your warning. :) )

Thanks so much for the video :yay: I might still try to see the new movie when it comes out.

''Dr' No'' & ''From Russia With Love'' are the first 2 ''James Bond'' films that were released & they are classics through my eyes. I hope that you watch them sometime. I still have others to see that Sean Connery starred in, such as ''Goldfinger''.

^ ^ You're welcome. :D I'm going to try to see the new movie when it comes out, too. It looks good! And I just need to know how it all ends. First, I need to find a way to re-watch all of the previous movies, including Casino Royale.

^ I definitely want to see both of those movies from beginning to end (rather than just clips). Classic indeed.

Well, if you have libraries around, they could have James Bond films on DVD available.

ina_am 09-03-2021 07:20 AM

I might check these out as well at some point.

Some have Ian Fleming's ''Casino Royal'' novel &/or ''Casino Royale'' starring Daniel Craig on DVD & Blu-ray. The original ''Casino Royale'' film I have yet to watch.

Jen's Herald 09-04-2021 06:13 PM

the first 'Casino Royale' is not considered canon, was produced without a license from MGM, and is more a comedy than an action/spy film. it was originally intended as a tv movie lol.

kerbear28 09-05-2021 06:16 PM

^ Yeah, the original Casino Royale was more a comedy spoof film, right? I don't need to see that.

That's a great idea. Otherwise, I'm hoping to be able to watch them on a streaming service I have for free. :fingers_crossed: I know that Amazon has essentially acquired the Bond library (through MGM), and maybe they'll put them all on Prime.

''Casino Royale'' from 1967 starred Peter Sellers, Ursula Andress, Davidn Niven, Woody Allen, & Orson Welles, among others. it's loosely based on the first James Bond novel. Some biographers of Peter Sellers mentioned that he was annoyed at having to make ''Casino Royale'' a Comedy & instead wanted to play Bond straight up. That ''Casino Royale'' film has generally gotten negative reviews for it's worth.

Thanks for the video :yay:

canflam 09-08-2021 07:53 PM

Yes. Are you going to watch it?

ina_am 09-09-2021 04:17 PM

Maybe yes :yay: you?

canflam 09-09-2021 04:41 PM

Yes. I eventually will watch each film in the James Bond series.

Jen's Herald 09-10-2021 08:06 PM

the owners of the Bond franchise refuse to acknowledge the 1967 film, and also the other non-canon film, On Her Majesty's Secret Service. both films were made outside the franchise license and have resulted in numerous and costly lawsuits.

canflam 10-21-2021 09:07 PM

OK. The "James Bond" film made in 1967 that I know of is "You Only Live Twice". I have not watched it at this time. Unsure why someone would not "acknowledge" it.
